Pattern and repetition are at the root of patchwork design. This class will enable students to create simple prints using easily available tools to produce graphic repetitive prints. From these they can make their own patterns and develop the ability to break down traditional symmetry to create exciting and contemporary designs.
In this session students will create simple printing blocks, learning a number of techniques. They will consider repetition and the combination of prints to form complex pattern. Students will work in paper and fabric and will learn how to assemble their prints into a simple book form.
All materials supplied, but students may like to bring a notebook and pen.
