QUILTING COMPETITION 2017

Entry deadline extended! Open until 27 May 2017!

Do you have a penchant for patchwork and a passion for quilting?

Would you love to show your skills off to the world?

Then you are invited to enter your work into one of our competitions, to be displayed and judged at the show, with the chance of winning prizes worth up to £350.

All entrants receive free entry to the Glasgow show and 2 free tickets to pass onto their friends and family.

There are five categories to choose from: Traditional Quilts, Contemporary Quilts, Journal Quilts, Group Quilts (two or more makers for one quilt) or Themed Quilt – Elements.

COMPETITION SCHEDULE

Category A: Traditional

Quilts made using traditional pattern or design. Either pieced together and quilted, appliquéd and quilted, wholecloth and quilted, or a combination of all these techniques – quilting by hand or machine.

Category B: Contemporary

Pushing the boundaries of traditional quilt making using original concepts and ideas, experimenting with mixed media and/or using modern fabrics.

Category C: Journal Quilts

A series of four small Journal quilts measuring A4 in size (8in x 10in) portrait. There is no set theme, although you can choose one of your own – These small quilts are a perfect way to showcase new ideas and techniques.

Category D: Group Quilts

One quilt produced by two or more makers, using any technique.

Category E: Theme Quilts – Elements

Two-dimensional quilts using any technique including mixed media; the finished piece should reflect the theme.
